CLASS-Youth Quilt Squares – CANCELLED

Perry County Council of the Arts (PCCA) is offering a Youth Quilt Squares sewing class at Landis House, 67 N. Fourth Street, Newport on Saturday, June 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., for students in grades 9-12. Led by master quilter and arts-in-education residency artist Denise Hoke, students will learn how to cut and sew fabric blocks together, as well as how to coordinate colors. The completed squares will be entered into the 2016 Perry County Fair quilt square contest and will be on display at the Perry County Fair, August 23-27.

The cost for this youth sewing class is $20, or $16 for PCCA members. Students should bring their own sewing machine. Limited machines are available to students who do not have one to bring. Fabric and other necessary tools will be provided. Space is limited to 12 students; please register by June 3.
