Live at Landis: Charlie Zahm

Perry County Council of the Arts (PCCA) will host a house concert with renowned traditional balladeer and multi-instrumentalist Charlie Zahm on Sunday, November 8th at 3 p.m. as part of its new Live at Landis series. Guests are invited to enjoy an afternoon of live music, surrounded by local art and antiques at the historic Landis House, located at 67 N. Fourth St., in Newport.

Journey in song and story through the Civil War with Zahm as heroic Irish-American Capt. James Haggerty of the 69th New York State Militia, which fought in the First Battle of Bull Run in July 1861. Charlie Zahm recreates in first-person the County Donegal immigrant and will guide the audience through the heroic story of the Irish Brigade. The second set at the Landis House will be your favorite Irish and Scottish songs by request!

Admission is $7. Tickets may be purchased at by clicking HERE (You will be redirected to PayPal) or at the door. Doors open at 2:30 p.m., and free parking is available at the nearby Weis Market. The public entrance to Landis House is located at the rear courtyard. Landis House is ADA accessible, and the concert is held on the first floor. Seating is not assigned and is in rows.

About the Musician

Charlie Zahm is one of the strongest voices in Celtic, Maritime and traditional American music. His one-of-a-kind baritone voice has made him one of the most successful performers on the Celtic festival circuit. Also a master of the guitar, Charlie brings love, respect and humor to the music he performs, and he will draw you into the stories of his songs.
