Visual Arts Collective
seeing is believing
The Visual Arts Collective (VAC) is made up of local and area artists, ranging from painters, sculptors to creators of fine crafts. VAC is a friendly, pro-active group committed to aiding and promoting Perry County's art community. It's a great way to meet other artists, discuss art and art news, travel with a fun group of peers to museums and exhibits, and discuss creative challenges.
The Collective meets the second Wednesday of every month starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Arts Council offices to plan and organize a variety of opportunities. Then at 7:00 p.m. a Workshop or Lecture begins. Topics vary from learning techniques, to marketing, to hands-on activities.
The Collective members volunteer at all VAC events and is responsible for the coordination of:
- Annual Capitol Rotunda Exhibit - in the east wing of the Capitol in Harrisburg for the month of November
- The Artist Workshop/Lecture Series - regular activities the second Wednesday of every month starting at 7:00 p.m. with additional activities added through out the year
- Studio Tour (spring-fall) - an opportunity for local artist to open their doors and hopefully sell some art
- Artist Bus Trips to Museums/Exhibits - occasional field trips
- Veterans Memorial Building Exhibits - currently focusing on the local scenes of Perry County
There's plenty of room for you! The Visual Arts Collective is a great volunteer opportunity for artists who want to make a difference within their community.
