Senior Art Awards
open to Perry County high school seniors

The Perry County Council of the Arts provides support to Perry County high school seniors through two funding streams:

The Annual Artistic Award was established in May of 2000, to be presented in honor of special patrons and participants of the arts in Perry County. Each year, as long as PCCA remains an active non-profit, providing multidisciplinary programs and services to the surrounding area, one senior from each of the four public school districts will be the chosen recipient.

  • The criteria for this award is: any graduating senior, male or female, exemplifying passion or proficiency for the arts-literary, musical, visual art, dance, or theatre; continuation of formal education or training not required.
  • Nominees for this award are solicited from the faculty of each of the 4 Perry County School Districts. Seniors who wish to be considered should contact their English, Art, Music or Drama teachers.

The Joni Williamson Scholarship Fund was established in 2008 to honor Ms. Williamson, who served as Executive Director for 10 years. Under her guidance, PCCA evolved into an organization that supported the Arts, Arts education, and Arts-related tourism on a regional level, but always paid deference to its local, rural roots. The fund awards one scholarship each year to a graduating Perry County senior who has shown dedication to and/or an aptitude for the arts.

Application must be made for consideration for this award, and submitted to PCCA by April 1.
