Landis House - Creative Commons, offers a contemporary gallery, a concert hall with a beautifully renovated Bechstein piano, a permanent collection from the life and travels of the Landis Family in honor of Arthur Clair and Bertha Rippman Landis, the parents of Mary M. Landis, our benefactress. Landis House is also a resource promoting community building programs.
Despite the hard work of last summer’s Landis House intern, many artifacts are not yet researched, catalogued, or evaluated. With limited resources, we have not yet been able to fully determine what we have, how to display it, or how to tell its story. Thanks to a grant from the Wells Foundation, this is about to change.
This summer, additional research and authentication of artifacts from the Landis Collection will be conducted by a Landis House intern. Our Landis House Manager Mary Mooney will take this research, enriched with stories and anecdotes from the Landis family members, and compile a training manual for our volunteer docents. With this program in place, PCCA will enrich the visitor experience at Landis House and increase the hours that Landis House is open to the public.
