Coffeehouse
dig the beat!

This event debuted in October 1996 in the conference room of the Newport Public Library as a networking opportunity and discussion forum for artists. Before three Coffeehouses had gone by, the focus had expanded to include open mike musical performances and poetry readings as local performers embraced the new venue. The word was out, and before a year had gone by the influx of enthusiastic musicians and poets necessitated moving the event to larger spaces.

Coffeehouse remains one of our most popular venues to this day and draws audiences from three counties. The Coffeehouse program provides valuable performance and networking opportunities for local and area musicians, poets, and performance artists. Four to six times each year, they gather to give live performances at a Perry County business. Talented musicians and poets can share an evening with an open microphone while building their professional experience.

If you are interested in performing, want to be a host site or are simply looking to have a great evening and need directions to any of the performances listed below, please call us at 717-567-7023 or e-mail us. Interested performers should contact us by Monday before the event.
