5: Country Casual – An Evening With the Quebe Sisters - Your presence is requested at PCCA’s major fundraising event of the year at Hunters Valley Winery in Liverpool on Sunday, September 5 starting at 4:00 pm.  These three fiddlers from Texas last appeared for PCCA three years ago and news of their return has excited those who were lucky enough to hear them the first time.  They perform a refreshing blend of western swing, vintage country, bluegrass, and swing, many with their magical, trademark three-part harmony.  In addition, guests will be treated to a menu of tasty delights made from locally grown meats and produce by PA Preferred Award Winning Chef James Woltman.  A cash bar will also be available.   Tickets for this fundraiser are $50.  Proceeds will support numerous PCCA programs. Call the PCCA office to purchase your tickets.

10: Artists' Reception for the "Sportsmen's Show"from 6 to 9 p.m. Artifacts created by regional outdoorsmen/artists will be on display from September 10 to October 23.  Artists from all over Central PA will be displaying everything from turkey calls to taxidermy to knives to wildlife paintings at Landis House, 67 N. 4th Street, Newport and at PCCA Gallery as the September Artist of the Month exhibit, One S. Second Street, Newport. Free and open to the public.

12: Artists' Reception for "4 x 6 Art" Exhibit: A call has been sent out nationally for artists to submit “4 x 6 Art;” art work that fits inside a USPS Medium Flat Rate Box. Their creations will be on display at Landis House, 67 North Fourth St. in Newport and available for purchase in time for holiday gift shopping. Exhibit runs until December 10, 2010.
