PCCA ArtFlow
Comprehensive Arts-in-Education services in Juniata, Mifflin, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder and Union Counties
PCCA ArtFlow is a six-county Arts-In-Education (AIE) Partnership dedicated to providing high-quality, innovative residencies to students of all ages through collaboration with artists, schools, communities, businesses and governments.
PCCA ArtFlow is designed to heighten creative approaches to education, and personal exploration and discovery for students of all ages. All people learn in different waysthrough verbal, spatial, physical, logical and other types of stimulation. By teaching with methods that recognize these different learning styles, resident artists enrich and supplement any traditional classroom curriculum. Art education has proven to stimulate student performance, enhance children's awareness of cultural heritage, and encourage improved self-image.
Artists are carefully screened, qualified and guided to work cooperatively with teachers. Criteria for selection include excellence and originality of artistic work, ability to prepare a clear and informative residency plan, and to work with students and professional accountability. Their programs typically include engaging, memorable hands-on activities including dance, literature, drama, visual arts, music and theater.
Schools, community organizations, libraries and other public and private organizations are welcome to become a residency host site. PCCA serves as the liason between the host and artist to insure a successful and rewarding program. Our PCCA ArtFlow coordinator assists with contracts, handles housing and travel arrangements, and collects and disperses all fees.
Residencies range from 10-180 days. Costs vary and are determined on an individual basis and are jointly funded by PCCA ArtFlow and the hosting education system. Business, Community and Government Leaders are encouraged to provide continued enthusiasm and valuable support to help make this cost-effective, quality education available.
