Embarq Photo Contest

Each year Embarq searches for photographs to grace their cover of its telephone directory. For the past two years, PCCA has partnered in their efforts and has provided local artists with an outstanding opportunity to showcase their talents.

The winner of the Embarq 2007 Perry County Telephone Directory Cover Photo Contest was announced at a reception held at the PCCA Gallery on April 24. "Baker's Farm " by Sarah Smart, featuring Perry County acreage at the onset of autumn, was selected from four final entries. Sarah, currently a resident of Whitehall, MT, grew up in Newport where her parents still reside. A check in the amount of $100 was presented to her parents who received the award on her behalf. The runners-up, each receiving an award of $20, were The People's Choice Award, a gift certificate to Espresso Yourself Cafe, went to "Pheasant" by . Smart's winning image will be printed on the cover of the 2007 Embarq Telephone Directory which is distributed to over 26,000 residents and businesses in the area.
