Ashley Clouser, Photographer

Biography
A graduate of Shippensburg University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Ashley has had an interest in photography from a young age when her father taught her to take pictures with his manual focus Canon.  Ashley is an employee at the Mechanicsburg Navy Depot as a Contract Specialist and is also going to graduate school full time.  Even with her busy schedule Ashley plans to finish graduate school in December 2008 and start planning her wedding.  Although Ashley’s schedule is busy she continues to find time to capture her surroundings on film to share with her family, friends, and the Perry County Council of the Arts. 

Artist Statement
Photography has been a hobby of mine for years. When I was in high school I developed an interest in photography through my father's manual focus Canon. Shortly after I asked for my own Canon for Christmas. My motivation has always been to take the best photo which captures the emotion and feel of the moment. I want my photos to show not only what was happening, but how people felt or how the scene inspired me. I want to see a beautiful product and I motivate myself to not just take a snapshot but to see the world through the lens, everything and everyone. My photos are not created with another viewer in mind. I take a photo knowing that after it is developed or loaded onto my computer I will want to look at it. I hope that through the PCCA people will see my work and be moved in their own way.
